A PHONOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF CODE SWITCHING AND CODE MIXING AMONG HND ENGINEERING STUDENT IN FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, ADO-EKITI
Abstract
This study deals with the phonological evaluation of code switching and code mixing among HND Engineering students in the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti. The purpose of the study is to find out the reasons why students code switch and code mix in an academic environment. One hundred and twenty (120) students consisting of sixty males and sixty females are used for this research work. The researcher made use of questionnaire and observation techniques under which items were expose to the respondents. The data collected were analyses using frequency counts and percentages. Also, recommendation were made for the furthermore of research on this field of study.
