LITERATURE REVIEW
In recent years, scholars discovered the non-availability of necessary art materials and equipment such as easel; consequently, there is need to make easel and other art materials available and accessible to the students who have taken up art as a career.
Therefore improvisation in art education cannot be over-emphasized due to this insertions from locally available materials should be made as modernization has come across to every aspect of life.
Schinid (1975) says the mainstay of outdoor painting is a good. Easel that can be set up quickly without such a stable support, the work is nearly impossible.
According to Diamond Stam (1974) the creative process begins with the individual discovery because improvement in technology is at its fastest rate everyday. It is therefore pertinent to create materials that will be useful to human activities. This is why every aspect of arts needs technological advancement that could be done thorough improvisation and self discovery.
Emile Albert Gruppe (1978) an American painter, further says the Gloncester of Anderson easel is perfect for the outdoor painting. It collapses into a small package and you can carry it on a strap over your shoulder when opened, its legs have a wide spread, so it stands steady in the wind. He goes further that the weight of the painting canvas make it steady and give weight for resist in the wind blowing.
