INTRODUCTION

1.1     Background of the Study

In Nigeria, education is regarded as the right of every citizen in our democratic society.

Education has been a means through which a person is developed morally, physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. This fact has been established through the definitions of some researchers in education.

Education according to the view of Osokoya (1981) is leading one of the inborn powers and the potentialities of skills, aptitudes and competence necessary for self realization.

According to Fafunwa (1974) Education is the aggregate of all the process by which a person develops abilities, attitudes, skills and other behaviours that are of positive values in the society which he lives. However, this implies that education embraces the entire process through which individuals are exposed to all that are needed for the realization of the need and the aspiration of the individual and the society at large.

Computer education is the process of acquiring the basic Computer knowledge, ideas, skills and other competencies.

Computer education referred to one or more courses completed by teachers’ candidates that include instruction in skills.

Computer have invaded into human life so much that there is hardly someone now who is not educated on Computer. Basically, anyone who knows how to operate on the Computer and get his work done is called Computer educated.

Computer literacy is defined as the knowledge and ability to use Computer and ability to use Computer and related technology efficiently with a range of skills covering levels from level elementary use and advanced problem. It is also knowing how computer works and operates.
