  • INTRODUCTION

Background to the Study

Effort continues to be made to learn more about sex, a correct attitude towards sexual life is very important for a healthy living. Sexual intercourse is typically defined as the act of sexual procreation between a man and a woman (boy or girl); the man’s penis is inserted to woman’s vagina and excited/stimulated with motion, until orgasm for one or both and ejaculation occur. However, in technicality intercourse is any penetrative sexual act.

Sex education is a broad term used to describe education about human sexual anatomy, sexual reproduction, sexual intercourse, and other aspects of human sexual behavior.

The education helps to develop a genuine attitude to family life and how love is express to the members of opposite sex.

Sex education being from home, that is within the family because it is often said that charity begins at home, thought their parents and other family members as well as relatives. Later it continues in the school and in the society at large. Schools are the best places where discussion relating to sex are profitably and positively conducted.

Therefore the school have the responsibility to educate young student about sex so that they will base their future lives on sound morals and ethical principles. Nowadays, most of our girls move in and out of medicine stores to purchase prevention drugs and many of the abused drugs makes them to become barren due to improper sexual education.

Sex education in schools was chosen and directed to the ability of our youth to avoid and control themselves from all sorts of sexual problems like unwanted pregnancy, untimely death through abortion, drug abuse, contact of venereal diseases.

The topic of sex education, has also not been given a conspicuous place in the school curriculum where there is aiding and abetting of abortion by quack doctors, also drug abuse is another problem contributed by a lack of specially trained teachers on these topics in our schools.

Many parents don’t educate their children on sex education as this also, usually mislead them and thereby they involve themselves in sexual immorality. Sex education is therefore very important in schools so as to enlighten the students on the correct and normal sex information and knowledge.

1.1    STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

It has been observed that the rate at which students commits immorality in secondary schools is alarming; Nowadays student sell their body for money, and also look for money by all means.
