Background of the study
Right from the time immemorial, good behaviour has been encouraged by man through different forms.
The concept of good moral conduct is not limited to a particular race, color, nationality, sex or generation. It is a perpetual divine manifestation and effective communication of elders to the younger ones. God revelation to mankind may be in form of natural phenomenon.
World religions have been characterized by different forms of religious experiences in promoting good conduct of man. Religious teachers and leaders all help in encouraging and teaching good moral conducts prior to their expressions which had led to the formation of various religions, that is Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Shintoism, Zoroastrianism, Confucianism, Hinduism, e.t.c despite this, all the religion sects still based their teaching on good moral conducts.
In Christian religious knowledge which is also refers to as moral teaching has been claimed that it was instituted by God himself to control and modify the evil behaviour of the entire world population. Thus, Christian religious knowledge has crept into the school curriculum to be taught at the introduction of Christian religious knowledge as the quickest means to impact good moral conducts into the world population since the world is a corrupt place where people engaged themselves in evil deeds therefore, there is the need for people to be taught how to be honest.
It is against this background that the study is focus on the appraisal of the impact of teaching Christian religious knowledge on primary school in primary local government area of ekiti state.
